Mussolin: MI5's man in Italy, during WW1, before his rise to power.

Guardian article reveals that Mussolini was an agent of MI5 during WW1. History remembers Benito Mussolini as a founder member of the original Axis of Evil, the Italian dictator who ruled his country with fear and forged a disastrous alliance with Nazi Germany. But a previously unknown area of Il Duce's CV has come to light: his brief career as a British agent.

MI5 Emblem: Pyramid of power.

MI5 certianly gave him a taste of a politic he would later become invovled in. I'm curious to know how the relationship ended, did they simply cut all ties, did they have any contact with him before or during his Fascist regime in Italy?

MI5 and MI6, as well as, the CIA, have a long and dark history of supporting figures that are politically dangerous, often people we would view as enemies of democracy. They are often supported, funded, trained, by Secret Service intelligence agencies, for their own political geo-strategies. The basic premise being that it is beneficial to support dictators and terrorists if it is in the interests of British and American power agenda.
